Cherry Blossom Festival
The warm winds of spring blow across the forsythias on a path dyed in yellow and the shy azaleas and nameless wild flowers blooming on a hill during springtime! By the time the spring sunlight bounces off the radiantly blue lake to enrapture us, spring is already in our hearts.
The hometown of Cheongpung and Myeongwol (Blue Winds and a Bright Moon), where white cherry blossoms and spring flowers of various colors are in full bloom! We invite you to Cheongpunghoban Cherry Blossom Festival, where you can watch water shoot to the sky from the Sugyeong Fountain of Chungpungho Lake at the Lakeside of Cheongpung, where the waters are clear, the air is clean, and the mountains are graceful, and enjoy the atmosphere of the new spring at Cheongpung Lake Monorail (Bibongsan Mountain), Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex, the small folk village that serves as a mountain education area for youths, Cheongpung Land (Bungee Jump), which offers a new world of adventure, and the silky Geumsusan Mountain.
On April of each year, white cherry blossoms flutter about Cheongpungho Lake, evoking the image of snow.
Various cultural festivals are held during this period such as regional agricultural and specialty product markets, eatery markets, concerts, experiences, contests, exhibitions, and other accompanying events.
The 1st iteration of the festival was held in 1997, and the festival has taken place annually since then in an area of approximately 13km from the entrance Cheongpungho Lake, Geumseong-myeon, Jecheon-si to the site of Cheongpung-myeon. Tourists seeking to enjoy spring to its fullest line up in droves to participate in the festival.
