Neungganggyo Bridge

Noksaek Village-Trail is a slow path starting from Neungganggyo Bridge, passing Hacheon Jecheon Mountain Herb Village,
and ending at Yongdam Falls in Sangcheon Sansuyu Village.
It is an easy course that everyone can enjoy regardless of age and gender. Around the entry there is Neunggang Valley.
The fine scenery created by Cheongpungho Lake, the mountains, and the valleys is beautiful, as if it has a mysterious aura.
After you walk together with Cheongpungho Lake as a companion on the paved path for 20 minutes, you will see a bee farm.
You will see some people wearing bee protection mesh that look like space helmets working hard to collect honey.
It is a rare sight that you can’t see in cities.

Sotdae Arts Museum

After you pass the bee farm, you will see Neunggang Wild Flower Garden and Neunggang Sotdae Arts Museum, where long sotdae poles are lined up like guards.
It is a place where the curiosities of hikers are satisfied. Look around the exhibition, and then carry on walking.
The gentle whispers of Cheongpungho Lake will welcome you under austere fields of corns, pumpkins, and peppers.

Hacheon-ri

Instead of a smooth asphalt road, a friendly rural path starts.
On the path from Neunggang-ri to Hacheon-ri you can get a taste of a village where people are close to the mountain and rely on it.
The name ‘Noksaek Village-Trail’, which means Green Village Path, matches well with the path itself.
It is said that, Yu Geumyeol, a historian, contributed much in the naming of Cheongpungho Jadeurak Trail.
To maximize experiencing the ‘Story (Storytelling)’ of each course, you’d better get some information from experts
who know the place very well when going on a field trip.

산과 밀착한 시골길

On a journey where you can enjoy walking, the surrounding environment not only gives something to see
but also interacts with travelers to provide various meanings. It becomes a DJ to play the story or a scene of a documentary film.
A long and winding village path connecting to the foot of a blue mountain...

Instead of showing the commanding steps of a noble man who won the first place in the national exam like Mungyeongsaejae Pass,
this pass shows the affectionate steps towards a neighboring friend with a small basket full of cooked potatoes and corns.
As you walk along the winding village path for one hour, you will see an asphalt road again,
and then meet Jecheon Mountain Herb Village, where you can experience various medicinal herbs.
On the slope there is a standing signboard that says 'Jecheon Mountain Herb Village'.
You can find an experience center and a sales room. It can be a good place for hikers to take a rest.

Yongdam Falls

therefrom there, cross Nabi Bridge and then walk for 30 minutes to the east, where you will find Sangcheon Sansuyu Village.
As you walk in the entrance of the village surrounded with peach patches and pea patches, two friendly old men full of wrinkles pass by while talking.
As you pass some houses with low walls where hollyhock flowers are smiling at you, you will see a landmark that says ‘Geumsusan Mountain Trail’.
Keep on hiking following the mark and you will see Geumsusan Mountain Cabin and Pension where you can have some tea and a simple meal.
Climb a bit further, and on the left Bomunjeongsa Temple welcomes you gracefully.
From the guide map of Geumsusan Mountain, walk along the peach patches.
A 10 minute walk takes you to the last face of the Green Village Path, the freshing Yongdam Falls.

It is not that glamorous, nor will it make your jaw drop. It is humble and simple, yet fine and purifying.
That’s why you feel more affinity with it. It is a friendly and cozy rural village path.
It has a vivid and clean clear nature unlike those of noisy cities full of entertainment venues.
The village path in the nature of Jecheon charms people.
Throughout Noksaek Village-Trail there are restaurants, lodging houses, and pensions. You don’t need to worry about where to eat and sleep.
You just need to prepare enough water to drink.
But there is not much shade along the road because it is a village path.
