Detailed Introduction

Jecheon is famous in Korea as a place where winters are long and cold, making it the ideal place to enjoy traditional winter folk plays. As such, Jecheon holds festivals that allow visitors to experience traditional winter plays that are disappearing from people’s memories such as kite-flying, sledding, yutnori, and jegichagi in tandem with the Jeongwol Daeboreum, which is Korea’s native holiday, and the Lunar New Year. Furthermore, the Winter Folk Festival holds events on farmland after agricultural produce have been harvested. As such, this will allow visitors a special opportunity to feel the romance of their parents’ generation in their own present generation.
