This building, known for its past history as a government administration office, is called Myeongwoljeong. It was first built in the 7th year of King Sukjong of Joseon (1681). The building was moved, rebuilt, and renamed as Geumbyeongheon Pavilion in the 2nd year of King Yeongjo (1726). Although a major renovation was completed in the 4th year of King Gwangmu (1900), the building was moved and restored at its present location in 1983 due to the construction of the Chungju Dam. The front side measures 6 rooms and the sides 3 rooms. The building features a hopped-gable roof. The right side of the building is the main hall and the left is the ondol room (Underfloor-heated Room). Although there was an annex building used to hold prisoners in the past, the annex was taken down in the latter days of Joseon.
